My "hotel on wheels" is not "properly" registered thanks to the Portuguese authorities.
This is because the car, like me, has or had German documents.
The car had a German license plate and a German registration. Then the time came that I had to re-register it, because you have to do it after a certain period of time.
In the meantime, the car has a Portuguese license plate, is insured, I have paid all taxes, sent all original documents of the vehicle to the Portuguese registration office, and within a short time had a "temporary" registration that is valid for 6 weeks.
After 6 weeks and now over 8 weeks, I took the liberty of asking. The result ... it's vacation time, it may take longer. What probably doesn't interest anyone here is that my "temporary" vehicle registration has expired.
As I have given notice on my apartment here and want to look around in France, it will be difficult. From September 1, if I don't have my registration by then, I'll be homeless. And I'll have to spend the night in a car that isn't regularly registered, or see where I can find accommodation.
What could still help in the short term, which I will also make use of ... the German embassy in Portugal.

The German embassy has a number, today I gave up after two hours on hold.
In the meantime, I don't care whether the car has a correct European registration or not ... I'm going to France no matter what ... I basically drive like Odysseus ... Close my eyes or ears and just drive on. 😎

Update: August 12, 2024:
Well, it was almost to be expected, but better late than never, the car gets its registration certificate. (At least it was sent) Unfortunately too late to meet the deadline of August 19.
I am postponing it to the originally planned date of August 22. In 2 planned stages, I will be in Nantes / France at noon on August 23.
The time up to September 1st is well planned, so it should be a quiet time.
But the time after that will be the real odyssey, where will it go?
