Beautiful Venice is located in the northeast of Italy, and among its greatest attractions are the canals and gondola rides. But there are also many traditions, including the enigmatic masks that are also a symbol of Venice.
These masks were used in the medieval carnival as mysterious ornaments and at festivals throughout the year, allowing people to dress up in a way that led to people from all walks of life mingling in secret and having a great time together.
Besides the beautiful masks, tourists from all over the world come to this place to walk through the many alleys and across the bridges of the canal.
There is one main canal, the "Grand Canal", which is 4 km long and divides the city of Venice, but besides this there are several others that run through the city like streets.
From one side to the other there are several bridges, in fact there are more than 400 bridges, each of which offers a different view of the city, and through which you can pass anywhere, but to cross the Grand Canal you have to use the gondola, for the crossing it costs an average of 1 euro, and for the most famous, romantic, ride in a gondola it costs an average of 35 euros.
Amid alleys, old buildings and many flowers on the balconies, you will find restaurants and cafes, fruit stands, flower stores that can be found along the canals, souvenir stores on the banks of the canals, buildings with their large pilasters, souvenir stands and many people offering package tours of Venice everywhere.
It is true that romance in Venice is not cheap, but when you consider that it is a trip to one of the most beautiful places in Italy (and the world), you start to consider all the sensations.
An important destination for almost all tourists is Piazza San Marco, one of the most beautiful squares in Venice, with Renaissance architecture from the 10th century, surrounded by large stores of famous brands mixed with souvenir stores and many restaurants, this beautiful square is always very crowded.
In the square there is one of the most beautiful and famous buildings of Venice, the Basilica of San Marco, built in Byzantine-Gothic style, which took more than 500 years to complete, and the Doge's Palace, which is an art museum and is more than 700 years old.
And how can we not mention the Campanile di San Marco, a bell tower almost 100 meters high that adds even more charm to this iconic place in Italy. Once you have been to Venice, you will feel that you should return soon to this unique and unforgettable place.
